Songs tell it all

Dad just gave me a haircut. He put me on a folding table, and Mom held me close as Dad used this thing that was buzzing real loud, and it was scary. Sam Then he took out these pointy things he called scissors.
All this hair was falling off, and I started to wonder if I was going to look like Dad. You know, he lost his hair, too. Luckily, when they finished, I still had some left.
I asked Dad why he was doing this, and he said that summer was just around the corner. It’s going to get hot, and he wants me to stay cool. Wow, summer is here already, and school is almost out!
I started singing and dancing around. … School’s out for summmmmer. … I guess what I am learning from all of this is songs tell it all. Seasons change and so do I, but it seems to run in cycles. Just yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away … and it felt like last summer, and here it is again.
Some of my hair that Dad was cutting had turned gray, so I guess I am getting old. According to my dog years calendar, Dad and I are now the same age – but I have more hair and less gray than he does, and I will looking pretty cool this summer!

Bow wow…

Contentment vs. covetousness - Realizing that true happiness does not depend on material conditions.
    I will:
  • Be thankful for what I have.
  • Not complain about what I don’t have.
  • Value people more than things.
  • Take care of my belongings.
  • Not be jealous of others.
